Phyllis Louise Fitzgibbon, 78, of North Vernon passed away at 5:00 a.m. Monday, March 09, 2009 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana.
Ms. Fitzgibbon was employed by the St. Vincent Jennings Hospital as the Activity Director from 1994-2005, prior to this she was the Activity Director from 1984-1994 at the former Community Care Center in North Vernon, Indiana. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in North Vernon, Indiana, a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, Jennings County Democrat Women. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, being with friends, working with flowers and being in her garden,
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp& Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Sweet officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to St. Vincent Jennings Hospital or The American Cancer Society.

Born August 14, 1930 in Mason, Illinois she was the daughter of Glenn and Ester Smith Ready.
Survivors include three sons, Tim Fitzgibbon of North Vernon, Indiana, Mike (Sylvia) Fitzgibbon of Commiskey, Indiana and Aaron Fitzgibbon of Lafayette, Indiana; three daughters, Jane Spaulding of North Vernon, Indiana, Vickie (Harold) Yerges of Columbus, Indiana and Teresa (Stephen) Graham of Lovett, Indiana; one brother, Darrell (Stella) Ready of Olney, Illinois; fourteen grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Thomas Daniel Fitzgibbon, brothers Gary and Robert Ready.
