Beatrice "Jines" Steen, 90, of North Vernon passed away at 6:10 a.m. on Friday, June 05, 2009 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus, Indiana.
Mrs. Steen was born on May 21, 1919 in North Vernon, Indiana; she was the daughter of Frank and Anna Rodemeyer Thomas. She married Herman Steen, he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Steen was a homemaker all her life. She attended Vernon High School. Her hobbies included spending time with her grandchildren and anything that had to do with being outdoors she loved nature.
Survivors include two sons, Gayle (Vivian) Jines of Butlerville, Indiana and Paul (Carol) Jines of Holton, Indiana; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Earl) Lindley of North Vernon, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Jason (Tara) Jines, Shawn (Kristin) Lindley and Deanna (Rob) Mull all of North Vernon, Indiana, Rusty (Rachel) Jines of Butlerville, Indiana, Jermey (Tasha) Jines of Aurora, Indiana, Jacob, Isaac and Zachary Jines all of Holton, Indiana, Amanda (Roger) Griffin of Hanover, Indiana; one step-grandson, Corey (Ashley) Yeager of Versailles, Indiana; eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Rufus Jines; and a brother, Paul Thomas.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Vernon Baptist Church in Vernon, Indiana with the Rev. Don Morris officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the Vernon Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home.
