Dorothy Jane Wetzel, 90, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 1:02 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2009 at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour, Indiana.
Mrs. Wetzel was born on March 30, 1919 in Cropsey, Illinois the daughter of Arthur and Josie McClellan Morin. She married John Foster Wetzel on February 28, 1940 at Tea Creek Baptist Church in Jennings County, Indiana. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2004.
Mrs. Wetzel worked as a cook for 18 years for the Jennings County School Corporation. She worked from 1963 – 1968 at Lovett High School and from 1968- 1981 at Jennings County High School. She was a member of Tea Creek Baptist Church in Jennings County, Indiana. She graduated in 1937 from Lovett High School in Lovett, Indiana. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and flowers.
She is survived by her son, John Mark (Kim) Wetzel of Seymour, Indiana; daughter, Joann (Larry) Cox of Commiskey, Indiana; four grandchildren, Jason ( Cheryl) Wetzel of Seymour, Indiana, Larry (Amy) Cox, Jr. of Lancaster, California, Mike (Dyveke) Cox of Waverly, Indiana and Jennifer (Dave) Kipper of North Vernon, Indiana; eight great-grandchildren, Deanne, Landon, Lincoln and Larry Cox III all of Lancaster, California, Evan, Lauren and Benjamin Cox all of Waverly, Indiana and Jonathan Kipper of North Vernon, Indiana
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Foster Wetzel and three brothers, Donald, Dudley and Carl Morin.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Burcham officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana.
