Hubert McIntosh

Hubert McIntosh, 91, of Seymour, Indiana passed away at 6:03 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus, Indiana resulting from an ATV accident. Mr. McIntosh was born on March 1, 1918 in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of William and Amanda Caudill McIntosh. He married Betty Stoner on December 24, 1949 in Seymour, Indiana. She survives. Mr. McIntosh retired in 1982 from Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana after working as a forklift operator for 27 years. He had previously worked as a press operator for 28 years at Arvins in Seymour, Indiana. Mr. McIntosh enlisted in the Army and served our country during WWII. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, the outdoors and riding four wheelers. He is survived by his wife, three sons, David (Sarah) McIntosh, Ronnie ( Mary) McIntosh all from Seymour, Indiana, Larry (Helen) McIntosh of Brownstown, Indiana; two daughters, Teresa McIntosh of Seymour, Indiana and Patricia Plothow of Leiters Ford, Indiana; a sister Julian (Carl) Manning of Commiskey, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren, Brandy Jo Kidd (Wade Carr) of North Vernon, Indiana, Jennifer Malott ( Casey Hill) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Larry Wayne (Kristina) McIntosh, Karrie (Jason) Green all of Seymour, Indiana, Michael and Matthew McIntosh both from Brownstown, Indiana, Holly (Doyle) Barrentine of Columbus, Indiana, Crystal (Preston) Lawrence of Cleveland, Tennessee, April (Jeremy ) Harden of Norman, Indiana, Karen (Howard) Menser Louisville, Kentucky, Alex (Jana) Plothow and Tracy(Ken) Odell all from Noblesville, Indiana and Tony (Karen) Plothow of Plymouth, Indiana, and twenty five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, four sister, Dorothy Barker, Etta Kessinger, Bertha Perry, and Jean Burwell; six brothers, Herbert, William Jr., Henry, Brown, Chester and Carl McIntosh. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Dove- Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with Rev. Bart Smith officiating. Friends may call at Dove- Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Friday, October 2, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
