Polly M. "Peggy" Moore, 87, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 8:01 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon, Indiana.
Mrs. Moore was born on April 18, 1922 in Buckhorn, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Couch Johnson.
Mrs. Moore worked in the dietary department at Muscatatuck Development Center in Butlerville, Indiana for about 17 years. She enjoyed word search puzzles and making quilts.
Surviving is a brother, Greenberry "Jim" Johnson of Buckhorn, Kentucky; a sister, Ida Nichols of Jacksonville, Florida; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in by her husband General Morton Moore; her parents; three sons, Morton Moore, Richard Robertson and Kenneth Gibson; six brothers, Burley, Luther, Dave, Pearl, Edward and Emanuel Johnson; six sisters, Mary Iker, Rilla Webb, Callie Wilder, Lilly Johnson and twins, Lacy and Gracy Johnson.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 1:00p.m. On Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Vernon Cemetery with the Pastor Paul Penegar officiating. Arrangements made through Dove- Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana.
Memorials may be made through the Dove- Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to Hospice of Jennings County.
