Ronald R. Robbins, 75, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 1:20 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2009 at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon, Indiana.
Mr. Robbins was born on October 6, 1934 in Dupont, Indiana, the son of Theadore Millard and Mary Bright Ruark Robbins. He married Norma Jean Thompson on January 26, 1956 in Madison, Indiana. She survives
Mr. Robbins owned and operated Ron's Stump Removal. He had previously delivered meals for Meals on Wheels in Jennings County for 5 years, and had worked for 35 years in the Construction business as a concrete finisher. He also worked for Columbus Security in Columbus, Indiana for 7 years. He attended First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon, Indiana. His hobbies included working on his farm, taking care and raising chickens, fishing and family gatherings.
Surviving with his wife are four sons, Ronald Robbins and his wife Betty of Columbus, Indiana, Ricky Wayne Robbins, Randall Darren Robbins and Michael Theodore Robbins and his wife Sandy all of North Vernon, Indiana; two daughters, Cathy Foster and her husband Ralph of Scipio, Indiana and Tonjua Gale Pearson of North Vernon, Indiana; one brother, William Lester Robbins of Scipio, Indiana; one sister, Marilyn Kincade of North Vernon, Indiana; sixteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Donald O. Robbins; two sisters, Carolyn Robbins and Connie Robbins.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Te officiating. Friends may call on Monday, November 2, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Scipio Cemetery.
