John S. Kamman, 66, of Elizabethtown, Indiana passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Kamman was born on April 14, 1943 in Richmond, Indiana, the son of Irvin W. and Elizabeth Schneider Kamman. He married Sharon Warren on April 16, 1993 in Sevierville, Tennessee. She survives.
Mr. Kamman retired as a Systems analyst in 1995 from Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana after 32 years. He was a 1961 graduate of North Vernon High School in North Vernon, Indiana, and attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. He was a member of National Rifle Association, North American Hunting Club, Turkey Federation and Ducks Unlimited. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving with his wife are; one son, Irvin E. Kamman of Shelbyville, Indiana; two step-sons, Charles Taylor of Columbus, Indiana and Gary Goss and his wife Mandy of North Vernon, Indiana; one daughter, Rebecca Gurley and her husband Tim of Tucson, Arizona; two step-daughters, Lisa Carr and her husband Chris of Cedar Park, Texas and Tisa Goss of Caulfield, Missouri; one brother, Kean Kamman and his wife Jill of South Bend, Indiana; one sister, Carol Kamman of Orlando, Florida; seven grandchildren, Jeremiah and Clara Harvey of Tucson, Arizona, Joshua and Christopher Kamman of Shelbyville, Indiana, Curtis and Adam Kamman and Jimmy Rodarte all of Columbus, Indiana; and one great-grandchild, Ari Kamman of Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, John Lee Kamman; and step-mother, Mary Alice Kamman.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Weeks officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Thursday, November 5, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.
