William Roscoe "Rocky" Cox, 52, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:10 am on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.

Mr. Cox was born on August 16, 1957 in Scottsburg, Indiana to the late Billy Gene Cox & Bertha Ritchie Sanders.

Mr. Cox had worked as a telecommunications contractor for approximately 18 years retiring in 2008. He was a 1975 graduate of Columbus North High School in Columbus, Indiana. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, & cooking.

Mr. Cox married Nina Ni on December 4, 1997 in Carrollton, Kentucky.

Survivors include his wife, Nina & 1 son-Cody Lin Cox, both of North Vernon; step-mother, Nancy Cox of Columbus, Indiana; 5 brothers-Karl (Mary) Cox & Mark (Dena) Sanders both of North Vernon; Rodney Cox of Taylorsville, Indiana; Adrian Sanders of Greenwood, Indiana, & Robert Sanders of Englewood, Florida; 2 sisters-Cindy (James) Greenwell of Nabb, Indiana & Alicia Sanders of North Vernon; two step-sisters, Mary Jane (Gary) Gossett and Sally Asheford both of Columbus, Indiana & several nieces & nephews.

Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Patrick Harrigan officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 & 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Cody Lin Cox Scholarship Fund to be established.
