Virginia Ortellia Kuntz, 79, of Butlerville, Indiana passed away at 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Manderly Health Care Center in Osgood, Indiana.
Mrs. Kuntz was born in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin on November 15, 1930 the daughter of Burton and Martha Boye Gessler. She married Gerald Dean Kuntz in February of 1952, in Vernon, Indiana. He preceded her in death in December of 1983.
Mrs. Kuntz was a caretaker for the Elderly. She had previously worked as a custodian for North Vernon Junior High School, and a line worker for Thomas Industries in N. Sheboygan, Wisconsin for several years retiring from there in 1973 and she had also worked for Mayflower Inc. She attended North High School in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, painting, drawing, bowling and flowers.
Survivors include one son, Ben Kuntz and his wife Rita of Butlerville, Indiana; two brothers, Donald Gessler and his wife Lois of Sheboygan, Wisconsin and Jerry Gessler of Rio Linda, California; three sisters, Alberta Nisporic of Riverside, California, Roma Akright of Oregon, Wisconsin and Beatie Kasermann of Florida; seven grandchildren, Amy Bolton of Tacoma, Washington, Amanda Bower of Butlerville, Indiana, Deanna Simmons and her husband Danny of Virginia, Scott Kuntz of Greensburg, Indiana, Christy Hawthorne and her husband Jason of Acworth, Georgia, Samantha Kuntz and Mandy Thorne both of North Vernon, Indiana; thirteen great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Martha Irene Walters and four brothers, Roland, Oran, Butch and Ralph Gessler.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Brush Creek Cemetery in Butlerville, Indiana with the Rev. Butch Wooddell officiating and a Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home Dove release. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home Wednesday, April 7, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
