Anna Mae Grimes, 93, of Muncie, Indiana formerly of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Grimes was born on January 26, 1917 in White County, Indiana the daughter of Alvus and Mildred Baer Hutton. She married David E. Grimes in 1938 in North Vernon, Indiana. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Grimes was the supervisor of recreation for the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville, Indiana, retiring around 1980. She was a member of New Freedom Baptist Church in Jennings County, Indiana. She was 1935 graduate of Monticello High School in Monticello, Indiana. Her hobbies included quilting, gardening, crocheting and spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Grimes of Tupelo, Mississippi, Mike (Jill) Grimes of Muncie, Indiana; one daughter, Lois (Roger) Crowe of New Castle, Indiana; one brother, DeWayne (Francie) Hutton of Kokomo, Indiana; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; a son, Jim Grimes; two sisters, Ione Dunker and Vivian Pingry.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Friday, April 16, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
