Jerry Leroy Unsworth, 69, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 6:40 p.m. on Friday, April 30, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana as a result of a traffic accident in Bartholomew County, Indiana.
Mr. Unsworth was born on March 9, 1941 in Lawrenceville, Illinois the son of Samuel A. and Emma Unsworth.
Mr. Unsworth worked for Perma Wick Corp for 20 years as a design engineer, he previously worked as a maintenance supervisor from 1979 until 1980 and he retired in 1978 from Arvin's as a tool & die maker all in Columbus, Indiana. His hobbies include woodcarving, fishing and hunting, gardening and being outdoors.
Survivors include two sons, Christopher Lynn Unsworth of North Vernon, Indiana, Scott Lee Unsworth and his wife Amy of Lansing, Kansas; two brothers, Gerald Unsworth of Virginia, Albert Unsworth of Columbus, Indiana; one sister, Glenda Hancock of Princeton, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Stefen, Joshua and Ethan Unsworth all of Lansing, Kansas and Sylvia Cross of Vernon, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Samuel and Bennie Unsworth; two sisters, Marietta Wire and infant sister, Rosemary Unsworth.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana. Friends may call on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
