Donald Wayne “Don” Rice, 47, of Seymour, Indiana passed away at 11:35 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2010 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana.
Mr. Rice was born on December 22, 1963 in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of Mary Jane Smith Rice and the late Ira Rice, Jr. He married Emily Jean Brewer on April 4, 1995 in Vernon, Indiana. She survives
Mr. Rice was an LPN for 5 years for Columbus Behavioral Center in Columbus, Indiana. He served in the United State Army from 1981 - 1982. He was a 1981 graduate of Austin High School in Austin, Indiana and in 2005 he received his nursing degree from Ivy Tech. His hobbies included being outdoors and spending time with his granddaughters.
Surviving with his wife are his mother, Mary J. Rice of Austin, Indiana; one daughter, Rachel Jines and her husband Rusty of Butlerville, Indiana; one sister, Patsy Fields and her husband Lane of Austin, Indiana; four granddaughters, Nikiah, Brooklee, Delanee and Alyssa Jines all of Butlerville, Indiana; one nephew, Nathan Campbell of Austin, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Rice, Jr.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana with the Rev. Lloyd Camp officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in the Spurgeon Cemetery in Austin, Indiana.
